چکیده

Stack and duct analyses have been conducted on textile finishing ranges processing cottrn and synthetic fibers. Analytical methods used include gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy and gravimetric analysis. Synthetic fiber spin finish, knitting lubricanis and cotton resin finishes were identitied in stack samples. When particulate loading was of interest, isokinetic samples of the stack gases were also taken. A brief summary of the sampling methods which were used and the conclusions drawn are presented.

An Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Corrosion Mechanism in a Metallic Stack

This paper presents an experimental and theoretical investigation of the causes of corrosion of stack in a cement plant. In this paper, information related to metallic stack failures are given in the form of a case study in Neka Cement Plant, Mazandaran, Iran. Heavy corrosion attacks were observed on the samples of stack. The failure can be caused by one or more modes such as overheating, stres...

Emission of viable bacteria in the exhaust flue gases from a hospital incinerator.

The exhaust gases from an oil-fired hospital waste incinerator were examined during normal incinerator operation. The design-specified operating temperature was 800 degrees C in the primary combustion chamber and 1000 degrees C in the secondary chamber. Flue gas temperatures, measured from the sampling point at the base of the exhaust stack, varied over the range 186-305 degrees C, and bacteria...

Conceptual design of a super-critical CO2 brayton cycle based on stack waste heat recovery for shazand power plant in Iran

Conceptual design of a waste heat recovery cycle is carried out in attempt to enhance the thermal efficiency of a steam power plant. In the recovery system, super-critical an CO2 is employed as the working fluid operating in a Brayton cycle. Low grade heat rejected by the flue gases through the stack is used as the primary heat source, while a secondary heat exchanger utilizes th...

Treatment of a synthetic solution of galvanization effluent via the conversion of sodium cyanide into an insoluble safe complex.

Wastewater discharged from metal-finishing processes usually contains cyanide, a hazardous substance that is used extensively in the surface finishing industry. In the present study, a synthetic solution resembling the contaminated wastewater was chemically treated using ferrous sulfate. This simple one-step process was applied successfully to remove cyanide from metal finishing wastewater. The...
